CELEBRATION OF BOB’S LIFE will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery at a later date.
VISITATION will be from 5-7pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL.
Robert H. “Bob” Stigler 79 of Oblong, IL. Bob Passed away at 6:40 am on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at his residence in Oblong, IL following a period of declining health.
Bob was born February 8, 1937 in Paris, IL and was the son of Pat H. Stigler and Neda (Plank) Stigler. On October 21, 1956 he married Laura (Morehouse) Stigler in Spokane, WA.
Bob moved to Oblong in 1974. Bob was the owner of Stigler Radiator Shop and Stigler Towing in Oblong, IL for several years. Bob served in the United States Air Force as a tech sergeant from 1954 to 1974 which included service during the Vietnam War. He attended Robinson Schools, was a former Member of the Robinson V.F.W, former Boy Scout Leader and Commissioner. Bob enjoyed working on cars and was an avid Nascar Fan.
Bob is survived by his wife Laura Stigler, Oblong, IL. Two sons; Patrick Stigler, Elk City, OK., Lyle David Stigler, Oblong, IL., Three daughters and sons-in-law; Robin & Robin Catt, Robinson, IL., Kim & Kevin Tohill, Flat Rock , IL., and Bobbie Jo & Jerry Ballew, Oblong, IL . Eighteen Grandchildren, Twenty-Two Great –grandchildren and One Great-great –grandchild.
Preceding Bob in death were his parents, one daughter, Debbie Mencher and a Grandson Josh Mencher.
